One lesson is abundantly clear following Michael Jackson's death: all your secrets are free game when you die, so live a good life.
Of course, most of us won't have to worry about the media attention our death will provoke. I highly doubt The Record will be curious about my will or the drugs I do or do not take. Go ahead, dig a little. You'll get bored in no time.
But it's just one of those things that we forget sometimes. When I die, I will have lost complete control over what I've left behind. What legacy am I leaving those I love? Will there be secrets that my wife, family and friends will discover after my funeral that will shock and disappoint them? Will all I've done in life (a pretty humble collection right now) be swept away because of some scandal that no one knew about?
It's just another reminder to live one's life with dignity, honour and integrity. You should never have to be worry that someone will find something out about you later. If you don't want someone to know about it later, don't do it now. Follow God's laws and you'll be fine.
